RE: Master Lock Cable Lock

I used to have a cable and padlock which I used to secure my motorcycle. I read a test on it and the testers had to use a torch to cut either the chain or padlock. Check out a motorcycle dealer. That's where I bought mine.

Where are all the posts?

I scan the newest posts and read those that interest me.
There used to be anywhere between 14 to 16 pages of newest posts--now it has dropped to around 10. Tonight there were only 7 pages. Where is everyone?

RE: Texas hill country campgrounds

We love Inks Lake State Park west of Burnet. Lots of wildlife (deer). There is a golf course on the park property, but it is 9 holes and the last time I played there it was in sad condition. Lots of site with water and electric but I don't believe there are any full hook up sites. There is a park store, but I don't know if it is open this time of year. Austin is not that far away. Good luck.

RE: Wichita Falls, Tx.

Right in the middle of Wichita Falls is a very nice looking campground. We haven't stayed there but have seen it from the road. It is right on 287. Look for the exit signs, it's marked clearly. I believe it is exit 1 or 2 depending on the direction you are traveling.

RE: Inks Lake, best site?

We like site 83. Near the lake, the store and bathrooms and it's easy to back into and there is parking outside the campsite just a few feet away.
There is another site we like that we haven't stayed in yet. It's in the 200's and is on a small loop near the 70's. Inks is one or our favorite places, but is kind of far from here since we are limiting our camping to closer campgrounds and parks. Go to the Texas Parks web site and look at the map. Good luck.

Does anyone know of any photography or camera forums? Can anyone tell me what is the latest Minolta SLR that will accept MC and MD mount lenses?
Thanks

RE: Lake Wright Patman

I agree with Luv To Fish. Clear Springs is a very nice park, lots of shade, a pavillion, swimming beach, playgrounds, fish cleaning facilities, lots of trees. You will enjoy it. You may also want to look into Piney Point, near Rocky Point. We checked out both of the Points and thought Piney Point looked nicer.

RE: DIY: make your own leveling blocks better, cheaper

Very nice, but I don't see the need to cut the boards on an angle. Why not just straight through?

RE: Hurrican Ike Staging area west of houston

Stephen F. Austin State Park in Sealy is nice, but it is going to be really tough going into Houston right now. In fact, the news is telling people not to return yet. Even though you are not planning on staying, there is lots of flooding and debris. Good luck.

RE: weight distributing bars

My trailer is about the size of yours and the selling dealer furnished 1000 lb bars. They work fine. trailer is level and the bars do not seem to be under excessive tension and are level with the a frame.

RE: Ozark National Forest

We have stayed at Buffalo Point on the Buffalo River and always had a great time. The campground is south of Yellville. Great place.

RE: Gas price jUMP!

Sorry folks. I filled up this morning for $3.52.9 and was third in line. Four hours later it was $3.79.9 and the lines were LONG. We are definitely being screwed.

Wal-Mart Inverter

Wal-Mart has an inverter for $89. It is I believe, if I have the terminology correct, 400 amp hours. My question is what can I expect to run on this thing and how long can I run it? Thanks

RE: high mileage Suburban?

Our Suburban has 175K. On a recent trip to Amarillo and back home we got 16.5 mpg running solo and 70 mph most of the way. I expect it to run much longer.

RE: Here's one for the books!!!

Someone stole one from a friend's pickup in broad daylight in a Wal-Mart parking lot, and you know how busy those are. My guess is that anyone who saw them thought they were working on their truck.

RE: broken cable in folding trailer

Our old popup had a yoke under the trailer to which was attached 5 cables--one main lift cable which went to a winch on the tongue, and 4 cables which went to each corner. If the cable which is broken is the main lift cable, you can go to a hardware store and get new cable the same size and fix it yourself. The other cables are an entirely different story and you may need to take it to a camper repair center.
